Conventional Circular Saw Blades
Conventional Circular Saws have equal spacing and gullet depth between teeth. The tooth spacing is the same on each tooth (the distance from the tip of one tooth to the tip of the next tooth) and the gullet depth is the same on every tooth (the deepest part of the tooth). This is the way circular saws have primarily been made since the inception of the saw blade. These saws are primarily ground on a conventional cam operated circular saw sharpener.
Variable Pitch (VPD) Circular Saw Blades
Variable Pitch Circular Saws have a tooth spacing that “varies”. The tooth spacing is different from one tooth to the next tooth. VPD saw blades are most commonly made in variable pitch segments with 5-7 teeth apiece. This segment is repeated as many times as necessary to work around the diameter of the saw blade.
Stellite-Tipped Sawmill Blades
